Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians will start to see changes to Maid Marian Way from next week.
The works are part of Homes England’s demolition of the NCP car park and former Nottingham College site to pave the way for major redevelopment of the wider Broad Marsh site.
These will include lane closures and, in time, contraflows, further up Maid Marian Way, with four-way temporary lights at the junction with Canal Street, Wilford Street and Castle Boulevard.
While precise details of the works will be revealed by Homes England in the coming days, these works are likely to cause disruption until the start of December.
The demolition programme is a vital step in clearing the way for the once-in-a-generation transformation of Broad Marsh, which will create new homes, workspaces and public spaces in the heart of the city.
It builds on the progress already made around the site, including the new Nottingham College hub, Central Library, bus station and Green Heart public realm.
It comes as Homes England continues its search for a development partner and brings forward meanwhile uses for the site.
