A person has been struck by a train on Nottingham – London route

East Midlands Railway announced the incident this morning Tuesday 19 December.

EMR said:

‘We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train.

‘This has occurred between Luton Airport Parkway and London St Pancras International is disrupting our trains on the Sheffield/Nottingham/London St Pancras and the Corby/Luton Airport Parkway and London St Pancras routes.

‘Emergency services are on site managing the incident.

‘Trains running through the area in both directions are now able to run between Luton Airport Parkway and London St Pancras International, two of the four lines have reopened, we may have some cancellations and delays of up to 45 minutes to the trains that were stood.

‘At present we are expecting disruption for the next 2 hours. As soon as the lines are fully open again, our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 10:00.’
