A1 in Nottinghamshire to be closed northbound for several hours – lorry shed load

The A1 in Nottinghamshire is closed northbound between A57/A638 (Markham Moor) and A614 (Upper Morton), due to a lorry shedding its load across the carriageway. 

Nottinghamshire Police is on scene and National Highways Service Providers are en route to assist with the incident.

Diversion Route

Road users are advised to follow the solid square diversion symbol on road signs: 

  • Exit the A1 onto the A638
  • Travel along the A638 through Gamston, Retford, Barnby Moor towards Bawtry
  • At the junction with the A614, turn left onto the A614
  • Travel south on the A614 and rejoin the A1 at Blyth

If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.

‘Road closed, queueing traffic and delays due to crash, a lorry involved and shed load on A1 Northbound between A57 Cliff Gate (Markham / Walesby Junction) and B6387 (Elkesley Village Turn Off). Congestion to before the Tuxford turn off.’
