A52 Wheatcroft works: Diversion maps for Flawforth Lane and Gamston link road closures

Drivers face a five-day closure of part of Flawforth Lane and overnight closures on the A52 Gamston Link Road as work takes place at Wheatcroft junction this September.

The diversion maps below show the alternative routes for the two closures, which form part of preparations for the Nottingham Knight and Wheatcroft junction improvements.

A section of Flawforth Lane where it joins the A52 will close at 8am on Monday 21 September and remain closed until 6pm on Friday 25 September.

The closure will remain in place throughout that period, meaning drivers who normally use the junction will need to take an alternative route.

Later that week, part of the A52 Gamston Link Road at Wheatcroft junction will close overnight during the period Friday 25 to Monday 28 September.

The overnight closures will operate from 8pm to 6am, with the road reopening during the day.

The closures are part of utility diversion work ahead of the main construction phase. Work at Wheatcroft is due to begin on Monday 7 September and last three months, with lane closures from Monday to Friday.

Utility work at Nottingham Knight is scheduled to start in November 2026 and continue for four months. Further details of restrictions at that junction will be released before work begins.

National Highways says closure arrangements can change at short notice, so drivers should check for updates before travelling.
