Appeal after cash machine ripped from shop wall in Nottinghamshire

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a cash machine was ripped from a wall of a shop in Blyth overnight.

It is believed that a tele-handler was used to pull the cash machine from the wall before it was put in a white van and taken from the scene.

The incident is believed to have taken place at the McColls store situated on the High Street, Blyth, at around 12am this morning (20 March) and a scene is currently in place while officers establish the circumstances.

Detective Sergeant Ricky Ellis, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We have recovered the cash machine, however, cash has been taken from it.

“We are now appealing for information and witnesses as part of our investigation.”
