A suspect was arrested by police within minutes of a call coming in about a potential intruder.
Officers were called to an address in Bampton Court, Gamston, at about 3.30 am on Wednesday when a suspicious figure was spotted in a back garden.
The suspect was located nearby less than ten minutes later in possession of a stolen bicycle.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and was later released on bail.
Inspector Steven King, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“When suspects are spotted on people’s property we will respond as a matter of urgency. The officers in this case did a great job and very quickly had a suspect in custody.
“Our investigation into this incident will now continue.”
