Police have arrested three people in connection with two burglaries at shops selling collectable trading cards in Nottinghamshire.
A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary at an address in Sutton-in-Ashfield on 18 January. He has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
The arrest relates to a burglary at Sanctuary Gaming on Forest Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at around 4am on Boxing Day last year. A window was smashed and cash and stock, including Pokémon, Digimon and Star Wars trading cards, were taken.
A number of trading cards were later recovered outside the shop. Further cards were found nearby after a member of the public reported two bags containing Pokémon cards hidden under a trampoline in a garden.
In a separate incident, police were called to a burglary at Jakes Breaks on High Road, Beeston, at around 6am on New Year’s Day. Stock of Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering trading cards, estimated to be worth more than £9,000, was stolen.
Following forensic and CCTV enquiries, officers arrested two people at an address in Beeston on 8 January. A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of a Class B drug, and a 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
