Detective Inspector Simon Harrison, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“There is no excuse for taking a weapon into a public space and we will always take swift action to deal with incidents like this.

“Officers made two arrests at the scene and are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

“Inquiries are continuing and I would urge anyone with information, or dash-cam footage of the disturbance, to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 687 of 31 March 2025.”
