Police have arrested two suspects after a man’s car was stolen following a street robbery.
The victim was confronted by two offenders in Holme Road, West Bridgford, shortly after 6pm on Saturday June 8.
He was told to hand over his car keys and did so when one of the offenders claimed to have a knife.
The car was driven off but found abandoned and undamaged around an hour later in a nearby street.
No knife was seen but the victim, a man aged in his 30s, was left shaken by the ordeal.
Detectives have been carrying out a thorough investigation into the incident and have now arrested two men, aged 18 and 19, on suspicion of robbery.
Police Constable Eleanor Monaghan, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“I’m pleased these suspects have now been arrested after some detailed investigative work.
“We know the emotional impact street robberies can have on anyone unfortunate enough to become a victim of this sort of crime.
“Although these arrests are an important step in our investigation, our inquiries into this incident are continuing and we still want to hear from anyone who can help us.
“The robbery took place in daylight on a residential street and we believe there could be witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers.
“If you have any information, or dashcam, mobile phone, doorbell or CCTV footage which could assist the investigation, please get in touch.”
