Boy arrested for attempted murder after man seriously injured in Nottingham knife incident

A team of detectives has arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder.

A suspect has been arrested after a man suffered serious knife injuries following a fight in the street.

Police were called to St Ann’s Way, St Ann’s, Nottingham, at around 11pm on Sunday, 24 November, following reports of an altercation between two people.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital with injuries that are serious but not currently believed to be life-threatening. His condition is stable.

A team of detectives has been working hard on the investigation and arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder on Tuesday, 26 November.

Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We know this incident has caused concern among residents, so I’m pleased we can share this important update.

“We have been analysing CCTV footage, carrying out house-to-house inquiries, and using all the other investigative tools at our disposal.

“I would like to stress that we believe this was an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public.

“A man remains in hospital being treated for some serious and unpleasant injuries. I would continue to urge anyone with information to please come forward and share it with officers.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any relevant CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone, or dashcam footage, should get in touch with police.”

Inspector Steve Dalby, neighbourhood policing inspector for St Ann’s, said:
“Patrols have been increased following this incident, and I’d urge anyone with concerns to speak to an officer.

“My team will also be working closely with local councillors, community leaders, and other partners, as we understand the impact this has had on people who live and work in this neighbourhood.”
