Shoppers in West Bridgford can win £20 local shopping vouchers to help lighten the load on their pockets this festive season with a charity Christmas Elf Trail!
20 of Santa’s special helpers have come to help out with residents’ Christmas shopping this year and get up to a bit of mischief, as 20 businesses across the town’s retailers and hospitality venues have hidden them somewhere on their premises!
Children and adults alike can collect a trail sheet from start and end points at Rainbows and Lemondrops on Gordon Road, Daisy Daisy on Melton Road or Lulu.b on Hilton Crescent.
They are asked to find any 10 of the 20 elves in the participating stores and collect a stamp from the person behind the counter.
They can then be entered into a prize draw by dropping off their completed sheets at any one of the three collection points.
Participants will be entered into one of five weekly draws for a £20 voucher for the next five weeks until December 23.
There are also small prizes for children when they drop off their completed sheets.
Residents can also collect a trail sheet to get them started at the West Bridgford Way stall, or the Sewa Day stall at today’s West Bridgford Christmas Lights Switch On event on Central Avenue.
The trail is also benefitting Sewa Day’s Rushcliffe Food Bank and adults accompanying children on the trial are invited to give voluntary contributions to the charity when they pick up a trail sheet.

West Bridgford Way is a place-based marketing initiative from Rushcliffe Borough Council.
Deputy Leader Cllr Andy Edyvean met business owners taking part in the project and Sewa Day representatives to hear more about it and get into the spirit of the competition, as all donned elf hats at its launch!
He said: “We want to do all we can to support businesses across Rushcliffe this Christmas and spread some festive cheer as well.
“The Elf Trail is great way to get more families and individuals through our retailers’ doors in the coming weeks and have fun whilst they do it with prizes up for grabs.
“Entertain young ones finding the elves, collect the stamps and then remember to return the trail sheet to one of the start or end points. Good luck!”
Sewa Day Rushcliffe Foodbank has been formed by a group of volunteers who want to make a difference in their local community by helping families who are struggling with food poverty.
The food bank operates once a fortnight on a Saturday at Edwalton Parish Church Hall where parcels are packed and delivered directly to people’s doorsteps all over Rushcliffe.
Co-ordinator Hetvi Parekh said: “We have supported over 140 families in the last 18 months. Each food parcel contains basic essentials plus some fresh stuff and the cost of each parcel is a minimum of £12 to £15 pounds.
“We serve 52 families at the moment! In order to sustain this demand, we need support from people because we are not a big organisation nor do we have any paid employees who can exclusively fund raise for the foodbank.
“We are all volunteers who want to give back to the community and can only do this with your support.”
