The decision taken by Nottingham City Council is part of a raft of asset sales taking place this year.
In a decision document, the council proposes the sale of the freehold to the Navigation Inn at Castle Lock on Wilford Street in the city.
The note states:
‘To declare the premises of The Navigation Inn Public House, 6 Wilford Street, Nottingham, NG2 1AA surplus to the Trading Account and make the freehold available for disposal. No alternative operational, regeneration, community or other requirements have been identified.’
‘In response to the Council’s Together for Nottingham Recovery and Improvement Plan Refresh 2022 the Council has commenced a review of premises within the Property Trading Account which could be considered for disposal.
‘The property has been reviewed and informally endorsed by the “Asset Rationalisation Board” as being suitable for disposal.’
Thr building is an operating public house and other financial elements of the sale are exempt from publication on the council’s decision document.
The Navigation has been on this site since the 1700s, the current building dates from around 1850.
