Woman stabbed inside a flat in Nottingham – man arrested

A man has been arrested after a woman was stabbed inside a flat in Nottingham city centre.

Police were called to a residential complex in Lower Parliament Street at 1.09 pm on Thursday (27 August).

A young woman was found with a stab wound and taken to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of wounding with intent.

A police cordon remains in place while officers investigate the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“While this investigation remains in its early stages, we believe this to be an isolated incident and do not consider there to be any ongoing threat to the wider public.

“We appreciate this incident will cause concern and would encourage anyone with information to speak to officers at the scene or contact us.

“Officers remain at the scene while we work to establish exactly what happened. We would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding while our enquiries continue.”
