A repeat offender has been jailed after neighbourhood police seized drugs following a raid on a village home.
Officers executed warrants at addresses in East Leake and West Bridgford on 8 September 2025 as part of a crackdown on drug supply across the Rushcliffe area.
At the East Leake address, in Osier Fields, police discovered a large vacuum-packed bag of cannabis and smaller bags containing further cannabis and ketamine.
Twenty-three-year-old James Handley was arrested after officers forced open the doors of the property.
Handley, of Osier Fields, was charged and went on to plead guilty to possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and possession of a Class B drug.
At Nottingham Crown Court on Friday (5 December) he was jailed for a total of 18 months.

Handley also pleaded guilty to assault, assault on an emergency worker and possession of cocaine following a separate incident on 28 February 2025.
He struck a member of nightclub door staff to the back of his head following an altercation before biting an arresting officer on the arm.
Handley had previously been convicted of drugs offences, receiving a suspended prison sentence, following a warrant in Cropston Close, West Bridgford, in March 2020.
Inspector Tim Cuthbert, district commander for Rushcliffe, said:
“These latest intelligence-based warrants are an important part of our ongoing efforts to tackle drug dealing in Rushcliffe.
“Handley had clearly not learnt his lesson from previous convictions so it was pleasing to disrupt his drugs activity through enforcement action.
“Drug crime invariably brings a host of other problems to neighbourhoods so we will always take action when intelligence suggests homes are being used to produce, store or sell these substances.
“I’m grateful to any members of the public who come forward with information and reports will always be taken seriously and acted upon appropriately.
“Neighbourhood officers worked closely with other teams in the force to investigate the intelligence, carry out the raids and ensure Handley was convicted, so it was a great team effort.”
