Arrests after drugs raids in Stamford Road West Bridgford and East Leake

Neighbourhood police arrested two suspects and seized large amounts of cannabis as they continue to tackle drug supply in Rushcliffe.

Officers carried out coordinated, intelligence-based raids on homes in Stamford Road, West Bridgford, and Osier Fields, East Leake, on Monday (8 September).

Teams from the Rushcliffe neighbourhood policing team and tactical support group found cannabis throughout the West Bridgford address.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.

At the East Leake property officers arrested a man after finding two bags of cannabis and a small amount of ketamine.

James Handley, aged 23, of Osier Fields, has been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class B drug and possession of ketamine.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (9 September) and was remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 7 October 2025.

Inspector Tim Cuthbert, neighbourhood policing inspector for Rushcliffe, said:

“We’re grateful for the information received about these properties which has allowed us to execute warrants, recover drugs and make two arrests – one of which led to a charge.

“Drug supply can bring a host of issues to communities and it is a neighbourhood priority for officers in Rushcliffe to tackle these problems head-on through proactive work like this.”
