Police seized a large amount of drugs and cash after a group of people fled from a house.
Officers attended an address in Ranskill Gardens, Top Valley, shortly after 5.15pm yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon for an unrelated matter.
As soon as police arrived a group of suspects attempted to flee from the property.
Inside they found a hunting knife and a lock knife, a large amount of cash, and numerous bags of cannabis.
Mobile phones, weighing scales and other evidence was also recovered from the scene.
A man and a woman, both aged 59, were arrested on suspicion of possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply.
They remain in police custody.
Inspector Christine Busuttil, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers were in the area as part of a pre-planned operation when they saw multiple suspects flee from an address.
“The reason for this soon became clear when we found a significant quantity of cash and drugs inside. These have now been removed from the address and will form part of our investigation.
“Our enquiries are at an early stage and we are working hard to track down everyone involved. Anyone with additional information about what happened is asked to call 101 quoting incident 503 of 22 December 2021.”
