Fifteen separate businesses will promote vacancies at East Midlands Airport’s jobs fair on Saturday 4 February.
Hospitality providers, airlines and ground handling firms have opportunities as well as the airport itself which is recruiting customer-facing roles in its security, car parking, and assisted travel teams.
More than 650 people have already signed up for the event which runs from 10 am-2 pm.
Businesses promoting vacancies include:
- DHL Express
- Swissport (ground handler)
- The Restaurant Group plc (which operates F&B outlets at the airport)
- Airport retail operator HMS Hosts
- Aviation Recruitment Network Ltd.
- World Duty-Free
- Logistics specialists DNATA
- Airport car rental service Groundlink
- Monsoon / Accessorise
Representatives from all businesses at the airport will be on hand to answer queries and provide more information about what the jobs involve.
People looking for advice or further training can talk to representatives from Stephenson’s College, Jobcentre Plus and careers support specialists, the Futures Group.
Furthermore, the Airport Academy will promote its free pre-employment support courses, which include fully accredited training schemes for people on jobseekers’ allowance who need additional assistance prior to applying for jobs.
Marcella M’Rabety, Head of Education, Skills and Employment, said:
“As confidence returns to the sector and passenger numbers continue to rise, and EMA’s cargo operation goes from strength to strength, this is a really exciting time to be joining the team at East Midlands Airport.
“The jobs fair will showcase a wide range of vacancies from hospitality to airport security and operations.
“If job seekers want to apply for one of the airport jobs on the day, my colleagues will be on hand to interview them.
“Alternatively, attendees can use the opportunity to simply explore what the jobs entail.”
