The incident happened on 28 August.
Lincolnshire Police said:
‘One man has died following a collision at Ruskington today.
The collision which happened at 12.16 pm, at Lincoln Road, Ruskington involved 3 vehicles, a black Volvo V40, a black Peugeot 207 and an EMAS Ambulance.
The driver of the black Volvo, a man, aged 29, died at the scene.
DS Helen Allcroft, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is the 3rd tragic death on our roads in 2 days. It’s devastating news, my team and I send our condolences to the family and friends of the people who have lost their lives.
“We will do a thorough investigation into each collision and determine the causes and until we know what’s happened, I ask people not to speculate.
“I make another appeal for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the 3 vehicles as they travelled in Ruskington or the collision itself to contact us.”
A spokesperson for East Midlands Ambulance Service said: ‘One of our ambulances transporting an emergency patient to hospital was involved in a serious road traffic collision involving two cars at 12.16 pm on 28 August on Lincoln Road in Sleaford.
‘The patient onboard the ambulance at the time of the collision continued their journey to hospital in another ambulance. Multiple ambulance resources attended the incident including the air ambulance and a LIVES paramedic.
‘Two additional patients suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. One ambulance crew member also suffered minor injuries.
Ben Holdaway, Director of Operations at EMAS, said:
“We offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the person who tragically died in the collision.
“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this incident. The police are now carrying out an investigation into what happened, and it is therefore inappropriate to make any further comment at this time.”
