Fire crews still at Sutton Bonington industrial estate nearly a week after blaze

Fire crews remain at the scene of a major blaze at an industrial estate in Sutton Bonington almost a week after it first broke out.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said it is still in attendance at the incident on the Hathernware Industrial Estate following the fire, which started on Wednesday, 15 April.

Crews have continued working to fully extinguish the fire, with resources expected to remain on site for at least the rest of today (Tuesday, 21 April). Further updates are due to be issued as the operation continues.

Residents in the area have reported that smoke can still be smelt locally. In response, the fire service, working alongside Rushcliffe Borough Council, is advising people to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.

The prolonged presence of emergency services follows several days of firefighting and monitoring at the site, with previous updates outlining the scale of the incident and the challenges in bringing it fully under control.
