A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
“We are still in attendance at this fire in the open at Sherwood Forest, following an initial call last night ( 11 July ) around 11:30pm.
“Crews are working hard to ensure the fire is fully extinguished, but we will be on scene this afternoon and into the early evening.
“Thank you to all our fire crews for working on this incident, and thanks to crews from Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service for always assisting us when needed.”
