The service attended three times as many incidents in July 2022 than normal.
Nottinghamshire Fire nd Rescue Service said:
‘In July we attended 3 times the amount of incidents we normally attend. We are hoping that todays rainy start will slow down some of the ‘fire in the open’ incidents.
‘Below is a fire which was started by an unattended disposable BBQ. The BBQ was left in a public open space and had the potential to become a much larger fire.
‘We are asking you to help us keep our public spaces safe, and not use disposable BBQ’s. Take a picnic instead, means there is less chance of a fire starting.
‘If you do spot a fire, please call 999 without delay and give our Control Room as much information as possible.’
