Incident Commander Bryn Coleman on the fire in Hermitage Lane in Mansfield.
Incident Commander Coleman said:
‘At approximately 3 am this morning we were mobilised to a significant fire in a derelict mill, about 20 fire appliances from across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire attended, plus a high-volume pump from South Yorkshire and aerial ladder platforms.
‘The fire has been contained and surrounded, there is still an impact to the wider community at this moment in time, around the Hermitage Lane area.
‘The Robin Hood railway line, which runs adjacent to the building still remains open.
‘We are working with our partners and Nottinghamshire Police to try to get remaining businesses win the area open on time.’
‘We thank you for your understanding at this time.’
