The Bassetlaw Reacher team displayed the two sides to their approach when they conducted a drugs warrant and helped an elderly man in need in one day.
The team, who are committed to being tough on criminals and supporting the community, carried out a drugs warrant in Retford, on Monday morning (2 November 2020).
They then attended a house in Worksop to help an elderly man who’d fallen over, making a cup of tea for him while he waited for his family.
Reacher Police Sergeant Tom Morgan said: “We’ve pledged our commitment to being here for the good of the people of Bassetlaw and that is what we will continue to do.
“These incidents show that we have the skills and capability to deal with any potential criminality but also the softer side to our policing work.
“The Reacher teams aren’t just about locking up criminals, we’re about engaging with our community and being there when people need us.”
No arrests were made in connection to the drugs warrant and enquiries are ongoing.
