Housebuilder Honey acquires site in Eastwood to deliver £41m 125-home development

The housebuilder is backed by private equity firm Alchemy Partners and its Alchemy Special Opportunities Fund IV which has £937m of fully committed capital.

Housebuilder Honey has secured a new homes development site in Eastwood Nottingham after exchanging contracts on 13.3 acres of land off Church Street.

Subject to planning, Honey will build 125 of its two-, three- and four-bedroom homes which will have a gross development value of £41m.

The proposed development, which will be called Raleigh, will comprise 16 of Honey’s house types and, of the 125 new homes, 12 have been allocated as affordable housing.

The housebuilder anticipates submitting plans for the proposed development in the coming weeks and commencing work on the site in the autumn. The first residents are expected to move in to the development by autumn 2026.

Sheffield-headquartered Honey says its homes have all been specifically designed to combine “style, substance and sustainability” for the benefit of buyers.

Honey has also committed to contributions of more than £1m toward to development of education, healthcare and bus services in the local community.

Since being launched in October 2022, Honey has secured 19 sites across Yorkshire and the East Midlands that will deliver 2,349 homes and a combined gross development value of £665m.

Honey chief executive officer, Mark Mitchell, commented: “Exchanging contracts on this site in Eastwood is an excellent way to start the year and further grow our development footprint in Nottinghamshire.

“The proposed plans for our Raleigh development will provide new homes that combine style, substance and sustainability to meet the significant demand from prospective buyers looking to move in or to Eastwood.

“We now look forward to working with Eastwood Town Council and submitting our plans to bring new homes to the area.”

Honey has analysed consumer insights and trends to inform its house type designs to ensure they meet the needs and wants of today’s new home buyers, including the flexible use of all living spaces.

Standard features in every Honey home include bi fold doors; individually designed fully integrated kitchens; and boutique style bathrooms with a signature free standing bath and full height tiling. All properties have an electric vehicle charging point.
