Image released after 74-year-old robbed at Nottingham city cashpoint

Detectives have released images of a man they wish to trace after a 74-year-old woman was robbed after withdrawing cash from the bank.

The incident happened in Lower Parliament Street in Nottingham city centre just after 11.30am on Saturday 6 April.

The 74-year old victim had just withdrawn cash from the Lloyds Bank machine when a man has knocked her walking stick out of her hand and snatched the cash.

He then fled the scene. Officers quickly arrived and a search of the area was conducted.

An extensive CCTV trawl has also taken place to track the suspect’s movements. However, no arrests have been made yet.

Detectives have now released CCTV images of a man they wish to trace who could help them further their investigation.

They are calling on the public’s help to identify the man in the pictures.

Detective Sergeant Hannah Frame, who is investigating this incident, said:

“This was a despicable and cowardly act, picking on a 74-year-old woman and robbing her at the cash point.

“We are treating this incident extremely seriously and are determined to catch the person responsible.

“The incident has caused unimaginable distress to the victim who feels frightened to leave her house as a result of this offender’s actions.  

“We would really like the public’s help and have released images of a man that could help us with our inquiry. Do you know the man in the pictures?

“Are you the man in the pictures? Please get in touch as soon as possible.”
