Image released after tram ticket inspector spat at

Officers have been liaising with Nottingham Express Transit (NET) staff and analysing CCTV footage as part of their investigation.

Police investigating an incident in which a ticket inspector on a Nottingham tram was spat at are appealing to speak to this woman.

The incident occurred when the conductor asked a passenger to leave the tram in Chilwell at around 8.50am on 3 March 2025.

Officers have been liaising with Nottingham Express Transit (NET) staff and analysing CCTV footage as part of their investigation.

They are now in a position to release an image of someone they believe could have important information about what happened.

Police Constable Scott Rossington, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This must have been an upsetting experience for the ticket inspector, who was simply doing their job.

“We will not tolerate incidents of this nature on the city’s public transport system, and our inquiries are ongoing to trace the offender.

“To assist us with our investigation, we would like to hear from anyone who can help us to identify the woman pictured, as we believe she may have information which could aid us with our inquiries.”

Anyone who recognises the woman or has any other relevant information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 109 of 3 March 2025, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
