Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a report of a hate crime incident in Keyworth last night (Thursday 23 April 2020).
It was reported that a Chinese woman was cycling home along Manor Road, at around 8pm, when a car containing two men came alongside her and someone threw beer at her before it drove off.
Enquiries are ongoing into the incident which has been recorded as a hate crime by Nottinghamshire Police.
Sergeant Sarah Merrall, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The victim wasn’t injured but she was left very distressed by what happened.
“Hate crime will not be tolerated in Nottinghamshire and the force is committed to tackling hate crime, supporting victims and bringing offenders to justice.
“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this particular incident and any drivers who may have recorded dashcam footage to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 835 of 23 April 2020, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
