A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of weapons and driving offences following a collision in Beeston on 15 September.
Officers responded to Thane Road at 5.15pm following reports of a collision.
Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle which had sustained minor damage after being involved in a collision with another vehicle.
The second vehicle had already left the scene.
Following a short pursuit, officers arrested a 20-year-old man.
A subsequent search led officers to recover a bladed article, while the suspect also tested positive for drugs.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a blade in a public place, driving without due care and attention, failing to stop following a road traffic collision, driving without a licence or insurance, and driving whilst under the influence of drugs.
He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

“We take every dangerous driving incident very seriously. Speeding and reckless driving can, and sadly often do, end in tragedy.
“Our message is clear: dangerous driving will not be tolerated. Those who choose to ignore the rules of the road not only put themselves at risk, but also the lives of other road users and pedestrians.”
