Detectives are investigating after thieves entered a shop, threatened staff and got away with cash.

Two men entered the store in Aspley Lane, Beechdale, at around 10pm yesterday (Wednesday 26 August), one of which was carrying a knife.

They ordered staff to wait outside with one of the offenders whilst the other went in, and following a struggle with a customer, took cash before fleeing with the other offender.

Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow said: “Response officers were quick to the scene and swiftly made enquiries which have resulted in substantial leads on this case and my team will continue our robust investigation.

“We will not tolerate any kind of burglary or robbery offences in Nottinghamshire and we are keen to hear from anyone who might have seen anything suspicious in the area around the time this happened.”
