Jet2 has extended its new Tunisia flight programme from East Midlands Airport, with services now set to operate into November 2027 and resume in February 2028.
The airline and tour operator said the decision follows strong demand for holidays to the North African destination, which was added to its summer 2027 programme earlier this year.
Flights from East Midlands Airport to Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport had originally been scheduled to finish on 30 October 2027.
Under the revised timetable, weekly Saturday flights will continue until 27 November 2027, before restarting on 12 February 2028 and operating throughout summer 2028.
The extension will provide additional options for passengers travelling during the October and February half-term school holidays, as well as those seeking holidays outside the main summer season.
Jet2 first announced Tunisia as a new destination from East Midlands Airport in June, offering holidays to resorts including Hammamet, Yasmine Hammamet, Port el Kantaoui, Sousse, Skanes and Mahdia.
The country is known for its Mediterranean beaches, historic sites, including Roman ruins, and desert landscapes.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, said: “The response to the launch of Tunisia for Summer 2027 has been fantastic. With plenty of demand from customers and independent travel agents looking to book early and looking to book Tunisia for some winter sunshine, we are delighted to be extending our programme from East Midlands Airport.”
“This expansion gives customers across the East Midlands even more opportunities to enjoy everything that Tunisia has to offer, whilst enjoying our industry-leading customer service. We know there is enormous appetite for this destination, and we are pleased to be responding by offering customers greater choice and flexibility when planning their holidays.”
Steve Griffiths, Managing Director at East Midlands Airport, said: “We welcome Jet2’s extension of their Tunisia flights beyond the end of next summer. We recorded this year’s biggest monthly passenger increase in September, clearly showing there is growing demand for flights outside the peak season. I’ve no doubt the warmth of North Africa will appeal to our customers late next year and early 2028.”
The additional flights are now on sale, with the extended programme operating weekly on Saturdays until 27 November 2027 and resuming from 12 February 2028.
