A major fire in Langar has now been fully extinguished after more than 48 hours of continuous firefighting.
The fire service confirmed that the incident has now concluded and crews are beginning to leave the scene.
In an update, the service thanked everyone involved in the response, including firefighters on the ground and staff supporting the operation behind the scenes.
A spokesperson said managing an incident of this scale was challenging in any circumstances, particularly during the recent heatwave.
They added that the dedication shown by all staff had been “exceptional”.
Crews from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue and Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service also supported the operation.
The fire service also thanked the local community for their patience and cooperation throughout the incident.
A spokesperson said: “Your support has been greatly appreciated.”
