A major fire at Langar Industrial Estate has involved large amounts of scrap metal and prompted a large multi-service response.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said 12 fire engines and specialist appliances were at the scene, with crews working through the afternoon in extreme heat.

Support has also been provided by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, which supplied a High Volume Pump to help get water to the remote and isolated site.

Firefighters expect to remain at the scene for the rest of the evening, but residents have been told the fire is under control.

People are still being asked to avoid the area, while nearby residents should keep windows and doors closed due to the smoke plume.
