There has been a collision involving multiple vehicles on the M1 northbound in South Yorkshire between J30 (near Barlborough) and J31 (near Sheffield) resulting in a full closure of the carriageway.

Emergency services including South Yorkshire Police are in attendance. Highways England Traffic Officers are on scene to assist with traffic management.
Road users travelling in vehicles under 14’3 feet (4.3 metres) in height are advised to follow the black solid circle diversion symbol and leave the M1 at J30 and at the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A616. Follow the A616 to the next roundabout and take the 1st exit onto the A619.
Continue on the A619 until the junction with the A60 and keep left to join the A60. Follow the A60 for 1 mile until the roundabout with the A57 and take the 2nd exit onto the A57. Continue on the A57 for approx. 8 miles until the M1 J31 and rejoin the M1 northbound.
Road users travelling in vehicles over 14’3 feet (4.3 metres) in height are advised to follow the black solid triangle diversion symbol and leave the M1 at J30 and at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto A6135. Follow the road until the A6135/B6052 junction.
At the junction turn right onto B6052 which leads into the B6053 and follow the road for approx. 2.8 miles until the roundabout with the A57. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A57 and follow the road for approx. 3.5 miles to the roundabout with the M1 J31. Take the 1st exit at the roundabout and rejoin the M1 northbound.
