A knife carrier had a machete tucked in his jogging bottoms when he fell off a motorcycle in a McDonald’s car park.
Kallam Clifton was spotted by officers doing laps around the drive-thru and restaurant, in Sir John Robinson Way, Arnold, around 4.20am on 25 August 2026.
He and another bike rider yelled abuse and taunted officers as they sped around.
Moments later Clifton lost his balance and fell from the off-road bike.
After a short foot chase, officers tackled Clifton to the ground and located a large machete tucked in his jogging bottoms.
The 20-year-old then shouted to the other biker to ‘run them over’ as officers detained him and seized the machete.
Clifton failed a breath test when he recorded a reading of 56 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, with the legal limit being 35 microgrammes.
Clifton, of Mountfield Drive, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to possession of a knife in a public place, drink-driving and driving without a licence or insurance.
At Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday (30 October) he was sentenced to a community order, which includes 120 hours of unpaid work in the community.
Police Constable Dan Armstrong, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Clifton was whizzing around the car park in a highly antisocial manner while he and the other rider shouted abuse at officers.
“However, his bike handling skills did not match the taunts and he fell off.
“We then discovered he was putting himself at serious risk of harm by tearing around with a large machete stuffed down his jogging bottoms.
“Simply by being out on the streets with this weapon Clifton was committing a very serious offence.
“We remain keen to speak to the other bike rider so if you have any information which could assist us, please get in touch.”
