Man arrested after victim hit over the head with a glass bottle

Following enquiries a 43-year-old man was arrested earlier today on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police have arrested a suspect after a man was hit over the head with a glass bottle.

Officers were called to Hucknall Road, Carrington, near the junction with Herbert Road, following reports that a man was assaulted

It is believed the victim was attacked just after 11pm yesterday (Thursday 2 September 2021) after an argument with another man in a car. His injuries are not believed to be serious.

Following enquiries a 43-year-old man was arrested earlier today on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Sergeant Chris Johnson, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We will always respond swiftly to reports involving violence and we treat such incidents seriously.

“While we have now made an arrest in connection with this report, our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances including checking CCTV footage in the area.

“We are also appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw what happened to please get in contact with us.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have recorded CCTV, dash-cam or mobile footage of the incident to help us get a clearer picture.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 824 of 2 September 2021, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
