Detectives have charged a suspect after a man was found with serious injuries in a Nottingham street.
Police were called to Alfred Street North, St Ann’s, shortly before 9 pm on Monday (17 June) following a report of an assault.
A man in his 40s was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, where he remains in a critical condition.
Kevin Wild, aged 53, of Alfred Street North, St Ann’s, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm. He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (19 June) and was remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 17 July.
Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a violent assault in the middle of the street, which has left the victim fighting for his life in hospital.
“We have now charged a suspect in connection with this incident and he now awaits the court process.
“Nottinghamshire Police strongly condemns all forms of violence and I hope our response in locating, arresting and charging the suspect provides reassurance to the community.”
