A suspect has appeared in court after a man was found with knife injuries following a fight in the street.
Officers were called to Norton Street, Radford, Nottingham, around 8.30pm on Saturday (3 May) and found a man, aged in his 20s, who had suffered a stab wound.
The victim, who also reported having his phone stolen, was taken to hospital with injuries which are not life-threatening in nature.
Detectives analysed CCTV footage and carried out other inquiries over the weekend and arrested a suspect a short time later.
Mohamed Gawi, aged 25, of Egypt Road, Nottingham, has been charged with committing grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and theft.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (5 May) and was remanded in custody until his next appearance on 2 June 2025.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Cordons were in place following this incident so I hope people living in the neighbourhood are reassured by our robust response and these charges.
“Nottingham has a very thorough CCTV system and if you produce a knife in our city you are highly likely to be quickly arrested and end up before the courts.”
