Man stabbed in a Nottinghamshire car park

Detectives are appealing for the public’s help after a man was attacked in a Nottinghamshire car park.

The victim was assaulted after he was involved in an altercation with another man in Hickings Lane, Stapleford.

He managed to walk to a shop and asked for someone to call an ambulance after he discovered he had been stabbed.

The victim was taken to hospital and received treatment for a wound to his neck and shoulder area. He has since been discharged.

As part of their ongoing inquiries, detectives have released images of a man they would like to speak to as they believe he may have information that could assist their investigation into the incident which happened at around 6.30 pm on Thursday 9 November 2023.

The man detectives want to identify and speak to is described as being black, of lean build, aged in his early 20s, and between 5ft 11ins and 6ft 4ins tall.

He was wearing a blue puffer jacket, a dark hoody and bottoms, and grey trainers.

Detective Sergeant Georgina Gallagher, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This was a serious assault that left a man needing hospital treatment.

“We treat all forms of knife crime with the utmost seriousness, and we are working tirelessly to find the person responsible for this attack, including trawling through CCTV footage.

“We know there were people in the area around the time of this incident who may have crucial information that could help our investigation.

“I would urge anyone who recognises the man pictured to please call us as soon as possible as we believe he may have information that could be key to our investigation.

“If you know who he is or are the man in the picture, we would ask you to get in touch as soon as possible.”
