Mayor places ‘time capsule’ in new-build Rushcliffe village hall

In 2022 after many years of planning it was decided to replace the old village hall in Barnstone with a new building as the old one was in poor condition and could not safely be refurbished.

The trustees of the village hall along with the hall user groups and the Parish Council agreed that they had raised enough funds to rebuild the hall.

The demolition of the old building commenced at the end of the year and the grounds were cleared in preparation for the rebuild.

A number of people from the local groups and the parish expressed an interest in putting together a time capsule with information about various interest items around Langar and Barnstone.

The information was gathered together and Rushcliffe people provided the funds to purchase the capsule.

As the building was progressing well it was decided to hold a ceremony to place the capsule within the building structure the 17 April 2023.
