McArthurGlen has announced today that significant modernisation works will take place at its East Midlands Designer Outlet destination throughout 2023 as part of a multi-million-pound investment into the Centre.
Modernisation plans commence this month as Nike confirms the construction of a new and upsized retail space at the Centre.
Development is set to begin from 23rd January 2023 as Nike relocates to units 1 and 2, more than doubling its former footprint from 6,079 sqft to 13,959 sqft.
The new retail space will also include the build of a mezzanine floor, making it the largest Nike store in McArthurGlen’s UK portfolio.
Nike has been a dedicated retail partner for 13 years, first opening its doors in 2010. Continuing its support, Nike’s upsized store is due to open to East Midland’s customers from Winter 2023, further supporting the local economy and its residents with the creation of a number of new jobs at the Centre.
Paul Sutton, Centre Manager at East Midlands Designer Outlet said:
“During our 25th anniversary year, we are investing into the future modernisation and development of the Centre, and at its heart, our community and customer experience.
“Over the next year, we will see the upsizing of a brand that has been at the Centre for over a decade and a key footfall driver.
“This new and improved Nike retail space is just the first step in our ongoing modernisation works which will take place throughout 2023.”
