Murder inquiry: Police appeal for dashcam footage Radford Boulevard

Detectives investigating a fatal stabbing believe motorists could have a key role to play in helping with their investigation.

Darren Davis died in hospital on Wednesday (10 August 2022) having been attacked in the vicinity of Radford Boulevard, near the junction with Graham Street, Radford.

Officers are today appealing for any motorists who drove along Radford Boulevard and/or Ilkeston Road between 3.30pm and 5.30pm that day to come forward and share any dash-cam footage they have which could assist the investigation.

“If that was you and you saw anything at all, or if you have dash-cam footage filmed while passing through the area, it is absolutely vital that you come forward.

“Even if you drove down there but didn’t notice anything, we would still like to talk to you.

“Any piece of information you can provide, however small or insignificant it may seem, could make a massive difference to unlocking the truth and assisting our investigation.”

Uniformed patrols have been stepped up in the area following the incident to provide public reassurance.

Specially trained officers are also continuing to support Mr Davis’ family and keep them informed as the investigation progresses.

Det Insp Crutchley added: “I can only imagine the pain that Mr Davis’ loved ones are currently feeling and would once again like to pass on my sincere condolences to them.

“We have a skilled team of detectives working round the clock to understand what happened here, and we are absolutely determined to bring whoever is responsible to justice.

“Due to the time and place of this offence, there will have been someone who witnessed this attack, so I’d urge them, or anyone else who saw anything suspicious, to please contact us immediately.

“We’d also like to hear from anyone who has any CCTV, doorbell camera, or mobile footage filmed in the vicinity of this area between 3.30pm and 5.30pm that day.

“I would like to thank everyone who has assisted with the investigation to date.”

A 31 year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday 10 August remains in custody as enquiries continue.
