Murder investigation launched after man dies in Notts collision

A 29 year-old man has died after a collision in Southwell Lane, Kirkby in Ashfield.

Nottinghamshire Police were called at around 7.45pm on Saturday following reports that two men had suffered serious injuries.

Emergency workers attempted to treat the man at the scene but he sadly died. The other male is stable and in hospital.

Police have arrested a man and a woman in connection with the incident, no other persons are outstanding.

Detective Inspector Parminder Dhillon is leading the investigation. He said: “We are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. If you have any information or dashcam footage, please get in touch so we can establish the circumstances around the collision.

“We are asking drivers to stay clear of the area as officers continue their investigations.”
