Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology (NUAST), part of NOVA Education Trust, is celebrating another year of exceptional achievement as students once again excel in their A Level and BTEC Engineering qualifications, securing impressive results and exciting destinations for their next steps.
NUAST students have achieved outstanding outcomes across a range of subjects, reflecting their commitment, determination and resilience throughout their studies. The results continue NUAST’s strong tradition of academic excellence.
Today marks a moment of celebration for students, families and staff, whose collective hard work has helped ensure that young people leave NUAST with the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed in their chosen pathways.
Headteacher Dave Thompson said: “I am incredibly proud of the continued success of our students. This year, I am incredibly proud of the achievements across the range of subjects we offer. The hard work, dedication and resilience of our staff and students have resulted in our students having the choice of where they go next in their journey to success. I am delighted to share just a few of the successes and destinations of our students this year.”
These achievements are a testament to the determination and resilience of students, supported by dedicated staff, supportive families and the wider academy community. As a result, students are now able to take the next steps towards ambitious futures in higher education, apprenticeships and industry.
Staff were delighted to welcome students into the academy to celebrate their achievements and share in the excitement of future opportunities. Across the year group, students have secured progression routes to a range of prestigious universities, higher and degree apprenticeships, and careers in sectors that are vital to the future of the region and the wider economy.
As students prepare to embark on the next stage of their journeys, NUAST looks forward to seeing them build on their successes, embody the values of the academy and make a positive impact in their chosen fields and communities.
Student highlights
Ali Choudhry, who achieved BAAA*A* in Extended Project Qualification, Further Maths, History, Maths and Physics, is going to Oxford University to study Philosophy, Politics and Ethics. Ali said: “I’m really proud of my achievements and can’t wait to go to Oxford.”
Lukas Baker, who achieved A*A*A*A* in Chemistry, Computer Science, Maths and Further Maths, is going to Warwick to study Computer Science. Lukas said: “I’m very proud of myself and looking forward to the next steps. I’m so thankful for all the support I got from my teachers.”
Jakub Szczepański, who achieved Dist*Dist*Dist*B in Engineering BTEC and Maths, is going on to study a Master’s in Engineering at Sheffield University. Jakub said: “I’m grateful to my teachers for allowing me to pester them all day, every day. Without their support, this wouldn’t be possible.”
Caitlin Hartley, who achieved AAA in Physics, Maths and Engineering Design, is going to Lancaster University to study Physics with Astrophysics. Caitlin said: “I didn’t expect that – I thought I was set to get three Bs.”
Katarina Park, who achieved A*AA in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, is going to the University of Nottingham to study Biology. Katarina said: “I am so pleased with my results and thankful for the support from my teachers.”
Ollie Barnard, who achieved AAAA in Computer Science, Maths, Further Maths and Physics, is going on to Birmingham University to study Computer Science. Ollie said: “I am really pleased and looking forward very much to going to university – thank you to all my teachers who supported me.”
Joe Li, who achieved AAA*A* in Chemistry, Further Maths, Maths and Physics, is going to UCL to study Mechanical Engineering. Joe said: “I’m so pleased to get what I expected.”
Chinomso Nwaiwu, who achieved AAA in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, is going to study Medicine at Exeter University. Chinomso said: “I was feeling pessimistic before collecting my results, but I’m so pleased that all has gone to plan. Thank you to all my teachers – they’ve been great.”
