Neighbourhood police spread some festive cheer by delivering Christmas presents to children in Sneinton and St Ann’s.
Officers handed out books and high-visibility cycling gear to youngsters on Christmas Eve.
Police Constable Annaleise Howell, of the City South neighbourhood policing team, arranged the presents drop-off as part of a Christmas initiative aimed at building relationships within the community.
Recipients included a girl who had reported a serious assault and three poorly children who were visiting a nearby NHS walk-in centre.
PC Howell said:
“The aim was to showcase community relations and highlight how officers are there to support families living in our neighbourhoods.
“We aim to be approachable and supportive to young people at all times, not just at the difficult moments in their lives.
“The high-vis bike gear was a way for young children to be noticed in the dark winter hours on their new bikes and scooters.”
