Tracy Pilcher will be joining Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) as the new Chief Nurse and Director of Infection Prevention and Control next year.
Tracy will join NUH in March 2024 from the Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board where she is the Chief Nursing Officer.
A spokesperson said:
‘Tracy brings with her a wealth of experience from working in a variety of different roles and organisations and has over 10 years’ experience at Board level in both provider and commissioning organisations.
‘After completing her nurse training Tracy went into the field of critical care nursing, working at a regional intensive care unit for over 15 years. Whilst working in critical care Tracy became involved in the British Association of Critical Care Nursing (BACCN) and has held a number of national board positions including Chair of the BACCN for four years.’
Tracy said: “I’m delighted to be joining Nottingham University Hospitals Trust at this exciting time. I was particularly impressed by the energy and commitment of staff I met whilst applying for this post, and I am really looking forward to working with people across the organisation and wider health care services.”
Tracy joins us as our Chief Nurse, as current Chief Nurse, Michelle Rhodes, retires at the end of March after a 38 year career in the NHS. Michelle started her nurse training at Nottingham School of Nursing in June 1986 and was proud to return as our Chief Nurse in June 2021. Michelle will continue working part time at NUH to support with the Independent Maternity Review.
Michelle added: “l have loved working with such brilliant, inspirational teams who go out of their way on a daily basis for each other and our patients. Having been born and raised in Nottingham, NUH is so important to my family and me, and I’m delighted to hand over to Tracy whom I have known and worked alongside for many years.”
Anthony May, Chief Executive, said “On behalf of all her colleagues, I would like to thank Michelle for her time as our Chief Nurse, and wish her all the very best for her well-deserved retirement, and for agreeing to stay on part-time to work on the Independent Review. I’m looking forward to welcoming Tracy to Nottingham, and working with her to continue the development of our hospitals as we look to serve our communities into 2024 and beyond.”
