A new pedestrian crossing will be installed on a busy road leading to the Edwalton retail park off Landmere Lane.
Residents from the new Edwalton development, and those walking from the nearby bus stop, have been asking for a crossing to allow a safe way to cross the road into the retail park. Aldi, Greggs and McDonalds are some of the businesses located on the park.
County Councillor Jonathan Wheeler of West Bridgford South Division told the Wire:
“I am delighted that the crossing is being installed.
“It has taken a while to sort to clear the hurdles and planning issues, but it is now a reality. This will allow residents to cross the road safely and I know will be welcomed by the community.
“A petition was created to show the strength of feeling of the community and I would like to thank everyone who signed it.”
