Nottingham High School announces Taster Days for Year 7

If you have a child starting Year 7 in 2023 then Nottingham High School invites you to join one of their Taster days on either Wednesday 25th May or Wednesday 29th June – a fun-packed day for your child to experience life at Nottingham High School, taking part in lessons, playing sports and meeting other potential pupils.

Based on Waverley Mount, next to the Arboretum, Nottingham High School has a rich history spanning over 500 years. Previously an all-boys school, Nottingham High welcomed its first girls in 2015 to become co-educational.

A Junior School was established in 1905, an Infant School in September 2008 and there is also a vibrant Sixth Form.

The High School is a school of national reputation, Headmaster Kevin Fear has been at the helm since 2007.

Nottingham High School was delighted to be named The Sunday Times East Midlands Senior School of the Decade in 2021 and most recently in 2022 was ranked first for academic results in the East Midlands.

These awards were made in recognition of the outstanding academic success fostered at Nottingham High School, which year on year has achieved the best exam results in the region.

As well as excellent academic results, the school puts a great emphasis on well-being and a focus on the individual to develop a lifelong love of learning.

There is a huge focus on extra-curricular activities that students can take part in, including Music, Journalism, Sports, Science, Chess and Food club.

The School has an extensive pupil catchment area and is the first choice for much of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.

Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds and we are committed to maintaining a representative entry, supporting this with generous bursary and scholarship funds for Year 7.

Together, these mean that approximately one tenth of Senior School pupils receives some form of financial assistance.

Nottingham High School will also be holding their annual Open Day on Saturday the 24th of September 2022.

Open to all, the yearly event is a chance for families of all age groups to visit the school, sample lessons, meet our friendly teachers and try a sample of our award-winning school lunches. Pre-registration is required, simply fill out the enquiry form on our website.
