Police in Lincolnshire are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was injured during an incident in Skegness.
It is believed that the 21-year-old woman was outside Buster’s Bar on Grand Parade in Skegness at around 1am yesterday (Sunday, August 9) when there was an altercation between a man and a group of around six women, including the victim, though the circumstances are not entirely clear.
During this, it is thought that the injured woman was punched by the man, who was not known to her, causing her to fall backwards and hit her head on the pavement. She is currently being treated in hospital for serious head injuries.
One man, aged 53 and from Nottingham, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with this incident and is currently in police custody for questioning.
DCI Marc Horsewood said: “We are trying to establish exactly what happened in the lead-up to and during this incident, which is why we are appealing for witnesses.
“Were you in the area of Buster’s Bar at the time, and did you see this happen? Or did you see any of the people thought to be involved either before or during the incident? We would like to hear from you if so.”
