Bulwell Academy in Nottingham had no running water and so closed with immediate effect.
In an update Chris Keen, the Executive Principal said;
‘Unfortunately, we are having to close school due to a Health & Safety issue only just detected this morning.
‘The academy has NO RUNNING WATER. An engineer has been called.
‘We have NO OPTION but to close immediately.
‘We have informed pupils and ask that they contact you by phone regarding their return home. Once you have given your permission for your child to come home, your child will leave the Academy site.
‘For pupils who are unable to contact home, we will retain them in school and provide bottled water, until we have been able to make contact with home.
‘I can only apologise for this unusual situation. We will keep you posted throughout the school day.’
