The more significant disruption today is on local roads and buses, with a new closure of Cotgrave Lane starting this morning, alongside continuing works in Nottingham, Woodborough, Newark and East Bridgford.
Trams

Roads and motorways
No major new unplanned incident has been identified in the early checks affecting the M1, A1, A46 or A52 through Nottinghamshire.
Drivers should nevertheless expect the normal build-up on the approaches to Nottingham as the morning peak develops, particularly on the A52, A453, A610 and Clifton Boulevard.
National Highways continues to have a programme of maintenance schemes across the East Midlands strategic network.
Rail – reduced EMR timetable continues
East Midlands Railway continues to operate its temporary reduced Intercity timetable.
National Rail’s disruption notice was updated at 16:54 on Tuesday 1 September and remains active. It affects services between Nottingham, Sheffield, Derby and Lincoln and London St Pancras, Sheffield–Derby services and trains between Nottingham/Melton Mowbray and Kettering.
EMR says the reduced timetable is designed to provide a more reliable service while problems with the performance and reliability of its trains are addressed.
RMT action short of strike also remains in place until further notice, meaning further short-notice alterations remain possible.
Passengers should also be aware of further industrial action planned for Wednesday 16 September.
National Rail – current EMR disruption
New today – Cotgrave Lane closes
A significant new Nottingham City Transport diversion begins today, Thursday 3 September.
Cotgrave Lane in Tollerton closes between 07:30 and 19:00 each day from today until Wednesday 9 September.
Green 12, 12C and 12E will divert via Tollerton Lane, Melton Road and Cotgrave Road.
Stops on Cotgrave Lane and at Cotgrave Lane End will not be served while the closure is in place.
Hollington Road – final day
Today is the scheduled final day of the Hollington Road closure.
The road closes between 08:00 and 17:00, with Pink 28 diverting via Beechdale Road, Bathurst Drive and Wigman Road.
Robin Hood Way
In The Meadows, Robin Hood Way closes again between 09:30 and 15:30 today, affecting Navy 48.
Buses divert via Meadows Way. The daytime closures are scheduled to continue through Friday 4 September.
Bramcote Lane
There is continuing disruption in Wollaton and Bramcote.
Bramcote Lane is closed on weekdays between 09:30 and 17:00 until 17 September, affecting 18A and Pink 30.
Buses are diverting via Wollaton Vale and Trowell Road.
Sherwood Rise
Sherwood Rise remains partially closed towards Bulwell until Saturday 5 September.
Yellow 68, 69, 70 and 71 towards Bulwell are diverting from Goose Fair Island via Mansfield Road, Hucknall Road and Haydn Road.
Woodborough
The resurfacing closure at the junction of Main Street and Bank Hill in Woodborough continues today.
Between 09:00 and 15:30, Sky Blue 61 diverts via Shelt Hill, the A6097, Moor Lane and Bonner Lane.
The works are scheduled to finish tomorrow, Friday 4 September.
Beeston – early 36 diversion
The early Orange 36 has already been affected this morning by overnight works on High Road and Chilwell Road.
The journey leaving Chilwell, Blandford Road at 04:47 diverts via Meadow Lane, Queens Road, Station Road and Middle Street, using Bay 1 at Beeston Interchange.
The same arrangement applies again on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September.
Newark – overnight closure continues
Major resurfacing works continue on London Road in Newark.
The road closes between 20:00 and 06:00 on weeknights, with Pathfinder 90 diverting via Boundary Road, Bowbridge Road and Hawton Lane.
The final scheduled overnight closure is tonight into Friday 4 September.
Trentbarton – Nuthall Road
There is also continuing disruption for trentbarton passengers.
Nuthall Road is scheduled to close between 07:30 and 16:00 today, the final day of the current phase of works.
Rainbow One is affected, with several stops towards Eastwood not served while the restriction is in place.
Overnight closures on Pye Hill Road at Jacksdale also continue until Monday 7 September, affecting Rainbow One and a number of stops in the area.
Other new bus issues
At Rushcliffe Country Park, Green 10A and 10C are currently unable to serve the country park because of roadworks. Buses are turning at Mere Way, with passengers directed to the Scout Hut stop.
In East Leake, roadworks on Brookside mean the School Green stop towards Loughborough is closed, with the nearest alternative at the bottom of Kirk Ley Road.
Major East Bridgford works
The long-term A6097/Kirk Hill junction improvement scheme at East Bridgford continues.
Kirk Hill and East Bridgford Road remain closed, with traffic directed via Fosse Way, Butt Lane and Main Street. A temporary speed restriction is also in force on the A6097.
The current construction phase runs through August and September and includes earthworks, utility diversions and removal of existing splitter islands, lighting columns and traffic signals. Off-peak two-way signals and occasional overnight closures of the A6097 are also expected during the early phases of the scheme.
The junction is one of five being upgraded as part of Nottinghamshire’s £43 million A614/A6097 programme, alongside Ollerton, White Post, Warren Hill and Lowdham.
